QUALIFICATIONS

B.Sc degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Economics, Statistics, or any related field
Certification in professional membership of any one or combination of the following ACA/ACCA/ACMA will be an added advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.



EXPERIENCE

Minimum of Ten (5) years post qualification experience in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Insurance or related jobs, out of which 1 year must have been in financial service industry.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Check and ensure that all payments followed Company due process and are for the business of the company duly approved.
Ensure that there is segregation of duties in accounts functions and processes
Check and ensure that the bank reconciliation statements are prepared by the Account personnel are up to date and correct
Check and ensure that approved loans are properly recorded in the relevant account books
Check and monitor staff emolument on regular basis. Check all loans granted, and endure compliance with interest calculation, repayment and deduction terms and reconciliation with posting to loan control accounts in the ledger
Check the appropriateness of staff overtime and ensure that they are properly authorized and approved
Check and ensure regular reconciliation of investment portfolio, yield and documentations
Ensure that the branches operate in accordance with the appropriate guidelines and procedure. Highlight the short comings to the management through your ICPM Head.
Issue advice on corrective measure in respect of any observed lapses in the system that comes to your notice
Carry out and implement any approved audit procedure and programme as directed by your line manage or management
You are to strictly work with the principle and procedure of pre-activities or post-activities audit methods whichever is applicable to the prevailing situation
Conduct an investigation for any malpractice and submit report of your findings
Work with other members to achieve the goals of the department and carry out audit assignments regularly
Any other duties assigned to you by your superior officer
